The main con is that some areas are too small for the number of guests on the ship, especially the Mardi Gras theater, Punchliner comedy club, and the limelight lounge. The entertainment department tries to alleviate this by presenting multiple shows around the ship simultaneously. The biggest Carnival cruise ship is Carnival Jubilee, followed by Carnival Celebration and then Mardi Gras.

To accommodate Mardi Gras in her new homeport, Port Canaveral in Florida needed to build a new terminal. The new Terminal 3 became the largest project in the port’s history, at an estimated cost of US$163 million. In the summer of 2020, the two-story, 188,000 square foot terminal was completed and ready for Mari Gras.

Each meal at Bonsai Teppanyaki starts with a sampling of 5 appetizers (Miso Soup, Pork Belly Yakitori, Spicy Tuna on Rocks). Each meal ends with the specialty desserts "Chocolate Bento Box" and "Green Tea Ice Cream".

Ok, a few places — get ready for six distinct onboard zones featuring brand-new experiences for spectacularly getting down to food, drink and fun. Mardi Gras boasts the line's ultimate playground with the line's biggest WaterWorks, complete with three huge spiraling slides. Boasting a huge sports area with an entire mini-golf course, a ropes course and full-court basketball, it provides ideal spots for family time.

These suites are located on Decks 10, 11 and 12, offer areas for dining and relaxing as well as a spacious balcony with loungers and dining space. If you’re hoping for a little extra pampering on your cruise, a Cloud 9 Spa stateroom allows quick and easy access to Cloud 9 Spa, where you can whisk yourself away to total relaxation. Cloud 9 Spa staterooms are decorated in relaxing, spa-inspired colors. Perfect for couples or solo cruisers looking for the ultimate in luxury. Other highlights include the casino, which is by far the largest on Carnival, taking up a significant portion of Deck 7.
Menu items include muffuletta sandwiches, oyster and cochon de lait po-boys, gumbo, jambalaya, side dishes (Creole potato salad with diced scallions, red beans, jazz-man rice), desserts (Bananas Foster, lemon icebox pie). For Breakfast are also offered Shrimp & Grits, and Shrimp Creole Omelet. A-la-carte menu appetizers cost US$2 each, entrees are priced at US$12. Aft Suites have large wrap-around balconies with impressive ocean views, as well as a private, outdoor tub and space for relaxation. One downside to the Carnival Mardi Gras cruise ship is that while there are lots of venues, some are too small to handle a rush.
